If you have been following my twitter feed, chances are you have probably worked out that I’m on holiday in Italy. After an awe inspiring few days in the most beautiful village of the south, we headed to the Amalfi coast for some breathtaking views, perfect seafood and serious sunshine.

After soaking up the 42 degree heat, it was time to catch the boat over to Napoli – the unashamedly rough and ready city, that had us eating the best pizza in the world and enjoying Peroni beers with the bohemian clan in one of the cities many squares.
Time flew and before we knew it, we were waking up (on my birthday, no less) in Roma! There’s an overwhelming amount of sites to gasp at in Rome. I expect my jaw will be on the floor for the next few days that we’re here.

ITALY IS PARADISE.

In approximately 1 hour, I will be leaving my Camden flat for the sunnier climes of Southern Italy, where my friend Marco has organised a rock music festival in the tiny little town that is his home. This can only be good fun.

I’m channelling that 80’s docufilm; “Heavy metal parking lot” right now, so I’ve packed about 5 bandanas, jean shorts and a gallon of hairspray.

I’ll try and update once I leave the village and head for Rome (where I’ll be spending my birthday) – until then, I’ll leave you with this video from V Magazine, inspired by the very same film.

Is it just me or can everyone feel the grey winter days just around the corner?  I certainly can, so in a last ditch attempt to cling on the that summer feeling, today I’m sporting my sunny season friendly jumpsuit.  It’s silk, it’s bright and it makes me feel so happy.

Luxury scarves are my new obsession and these 100% silk ones by Lucy Jay are my current front runners.

I love a good graphic print and when combined with quality materials and a range of sizes, how could it go wrong?  Lucy Jay’s prints include tribal, psychedelic and humorous references and I feel like they instantly add an element of playful sophistication to an outfit.

Lucy kindly sent me a few different styles of her scarves to play with and I assure you, the possibilities are endless. They can be worn in so many different ways and as you can see, if you have a webcam and an hour to spare, you will feel obliged to take a ridiculous amount of photos of yourself, as you try to discover new ways to wear them.

A bandanna, a bow, a belt…. you name it, I tried it but luckily for you, the narcissism has a limit – so I’ll just show you four of my favourite ways to wear a Lucy Jay scarf…

Karla Spetic is a new love interest of mine.  Her AW10 collection, based on a pastel colour palette, still has enough emphasis on geometric shapes, quirky prints and sophisticated draping, to prevent it from falling into the predictable, cutesy category of the design world.

Karla’s designs scream individuality, while embracing femininity and would appeal to the woman who is not afraid to take risks.

Utility chic.
Buttoned up shirts, pleated skirts and simple no-frills jackets are moving from the catwalks to the high street, in industrial tones of grey, military green and brown. It’s about simplicity. It’s about strength. And I’m completely buying into it.

This dress, in all of it’s military, buckled, zipped and poppered glory, was doing some outrageous flirting with me, as I browsed the Henry Holland collection at Debenhams.

I love clothes that are easy to wear. ‘Pull it on and go’.

I have a feeling that even Kim Jong Il might approve….

There has been a lot of sh** going down of late.  I mean, yesterday saw the final episode EVER of The Hills being aired on MTV uk.

HOW WILL I GO ON WITHOUT YOU, SPEIDI???!!

The summer has suddenly disappeared and I STILL haven’t managed to find my new home.  Huff puff. FML.

Alas, I do have a little holiday in Italy to look forward to at the end of this month and therefore, I am choosing to spend the majority of today, dreaming of jet planes, Italian food and holiday outfits.

Can’t wait to eat at Pizzeria da Michele in Naples, to read books while laying on the beach at the Amalfi Coast and to see the sites of Rome.

I just need your help with one thing…..
