News of Carine Roitfeld (the editor of French Vogue) and her team being banned from Balenciaga’s Paris show, hit the fashion world with a bang last Thursday. And although reasons for the blacklisting have not been divulged, it is reported that the French owned fashion house will not be submitting any garments for editorials in the magazine.
Now I know that this crazy industry is no stranger to gossip and controversy but somehow this time it feels so much worse.
Why?
Because the Balenciaga AW10 collection was devastatingly good…. I actually feel sad for the readers of French Vogue. For they will be missing out on these pieces of perfection…

Really?? I’d like to know the reason behind this action, but I feel like whatever they are, they pale in comparison to the loss of exposure for the collection. I’d bet money that Balenciaga’s bottom line decreases. Even if everyone already knows about the clothes, editorials show them in a way that makes people imagine them in their closets… that’s pretty crucial. Thanks for posting this; I’m going straight to google now, lol.
Wow that seems like a bad business decision. Someone ego was hurt…
What cray awesome shoels though, I love the detail on the back
Wow that is really shocking. I think it’s a loss for both of them. something of a pyrrhic victory for both sides. But who knows what sparked it?
Those shoes are truly amazing. I know that sounds super gay coming from a guy but they are like pieces of art… Nice find…
I never even heard about ths until now, they did that really really? It seems like a way to court some media attention to me – but then, Balenciaga – do they really need it?
Those shoes are beyond awesome – I may have to re-post. LOVE.
